Warning! Weather in Thailand Nov 18, 2008

Tropical Storm “Noul” was downgraded the tropical depression. At 4.00 a.m. today, it was centered in Cambodia or at lat 12.6 °N, long 104.2 °E, with sustained winds of 50 km/hr. It is moving west-northwestwards slowly. It is expected will to be downgraded to low pressure cell. Widely scattered rains are likely in the lower Northeast, the East and the upper South of Thailand.
Another surge of nearly intense high pressure system from China has covered Laos, PDR and the South China Sea. It will then cover upper Thailand by the late morning today and impact on the Northeast first. This causes increasing of cloud and cooler weather respectively. The prevailing northeast monsoon over Thailand Gulf will strengthen with wave above 2 meters. All ships should proceed with caution during 19-21 November.

"Tropical Storm Noul"

At 5.30 a.m. today, Tropical Storm “Noul” in the middle South China Seas was centered about 550 km east of Hojimin City or lat 11.0 °N, long 111.9 °E , with sustained winds of 65 km/hr. It is moving westwards with a speed of 18 km/hr. The storm is expected to move inshore to lower Vietnam during 17-18 November. The eastern portion of the Northeast and the Easter of Thailand experiences more rain while the prevailing northeast monsoon over Thailand Gulf will strengthen with wave above 2 meters during 18-21 November. All ships should proceed with caution during this period.

Monkey Mountain and Buddhist Temple


A visit to Khao Takiap mountain, home to lots of monkeys and Wat Khao Takiap Buddhist Temple, offers spectacular views of Hua Hin bay and beyond. This is a little side trip which can easily be combined with visits to other attractions in Hua Hin.

The high pressure system over upper Thailand continues weakening and causes a rise of 1-3 °C with more morning fog together with possible showers over the areas. All forms of transport should beware of poor visibilities and showers. Besides, the prevailing northeast monsoon persists over the South and Thailand Gulf. Wave height 1-2 meters is likely while a decrease in rainfall stays over the South during this period.
